Her path to Apopka is like many, moving into the city in 2012 and falling in love with the city’s community, it’s people and its amenities. She’s seen it grow, from adding a splash pad, a new city center and exciting new businesses.
But, her background proves to her that Apopka can be so much more and she wants to help lead this new era of prosperity for the city.
Baron was born and raised in Miami, the daughter of Cuban immigrants. When she was eight, her parents divorced, and she was raised by a single mom and her three older siblings. She graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and then her Master of Science in organizational management from St. Thomas University.
She started her professional career at the Department of Business and Professional Regulations as an investigative specialist. In 1997, she graduated from the police academy and rose to become a special agent with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Baron is married to Edwin Baron and has four children.
